INTERNATIONAL FOOTWEAR DESIGN COMPETITION
"SULLE ORME DEL CUOIO"

NOTICE OF COMPETITION

13th EDITION


A) COMPETITION RULES
    1) The competition is open to students-stylists attending all Vocational Training Schools and Institute of art and design.
    2) Object of competition is the sole of the shoe.
    3) To take part in competition it is requested to make a sole prototype realized only with genuine sole leather. The use of other fibres is allowed for technical and design reasons without exceeding 30% (thirty percent) of the whole.
    4) Sole prototype means a unnecessary finished model.
    5) Two model categories are foreseen: sole for men shoes and sole for women shoes.
    6) Every participant must submit only 1 (ONE) model either for men or for women.
    7) Models can be either right-hand or left-hand.
    8) To work the prototype every participant shall have a kit of materials for optional use as there is no obligation to use them.
    9) The participant may employ sole leather and other materials obtained personally.
B) THEME OF COMPETITION

Innovative sole prototype. The innovation means a new sole as look or functionality or with both the requisites.

C) APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND ENROLLEMENT FORMALITIES

1) Wanting to take part in the competition it is requested to submit application taking out the special form (.DOC ) available on Consortium web site www.verocuoio.it and to send it in the following ways:
  • by mail to the following address:

  • by internet, at the aforesaid web site in the page "competition/on-line application"
2) Consortium must receive applications not later than 30th October 2007.

D) SUBMISSION OF MODELS

The sole prototypes must arrive to Consortium not later than 31st March 2008, according to the instructions that participants will receive following their application.

E) SELECTION PROCEDURE

1) The selection will be made by a Panel of Judges made up of entrepreneurs and stylists.
2) The final result will be drawn up according to the unauditable decision of Judges. The prizes awarding will be made according the following scheme: 1st and 2nd placed in category "for men" and 1st and 2nd placed in category "for women";
3) All the participants shall be informed about the selection results.

F) PRIZES

1) The first two placed in the foreseen categories will be awarded the following money prizes:

2) The aforesaid prizes aim at supporting studies in the field of shoe design and, if there should be the conditions, they are liable to deduction of State dues.
3) Cash prizes must be claimed in person by winners or by someone delegated to represent him/her by written authorisation.

2) The prototypes submitted to competition will not be returned and will become the property of Consortium who reserve himself the right of publishing and promoting them in every form and by every mean, in order to make young designers known to the world of work and to advertise their image, without any objection or request being made by the participants.
3) Consortium want to file a petition of registration as "industrial model" for the sole prototypes with marked innovation peculiarities in agreement with the maker of the model.
